No one has reviewed Iconic on the Directory, but at Fragrantica it has numerous reviews. They range from it being an excellent clone of Bleu De Chanel to a few saying it smells nothing like Bleu de Chanel at all.
I sprayed some Iconic on my hand the other day, and for 10 to 15 minutes thought it was awful and horrendous, wondering who on earth would buy it.. Then it suddenly came good and smelled really nice from then on. It certainly smelled better to me than Armaf's other alleged clone of Bleu De Chanel - "Tag Him".
Only problem is that I can't remember what Bleu De Chanel smells like, and they never have a tester at the place I go. And I can't be bothered driving an hour to where I know I'll find a tester to do a comparison.
Has anybody here tried Club De Nuit's Iconic and if so, how would you rate it as a clone of BDC?
Regards,
Renato

Hey Renato,
Yeah you aren't wrong about Testers these days, no hope of ever finding one at Myer that's full. Seems the Myer testers have been empty for years and no sign of ever being replaced.
I can safely say, as I have both fragrances - they smell nothing alike.
BdC is far superior in every way possible.

Please stay away from Armaf.
I owned Club de Nuit Milestone and it smelled like synthetic garbage.
They all have this strange, metallic smell to them.
It feels unhealthy, it smells unhealthy, and it probably is.
I think these clones are getting mass produced in China.

Thanks, but have you told this to the not insignificant number of people here who have posted Milestone as their SOTD?
Cheers,
Renato

Just for fun, try comparing Creed Silver Mountain Water (which I own) to Club De Nuit Sillage.

Thanks for your thoughts.
I wouldn't know about Myers testers, as they closed our Myers store down last year. My closest high-end perfume store is now Chemist Warehouse in Baxter, which for some unknown reason is full of Creeds, Tom Fords, Merchant of Venice, Byredo etc. It has me puzzled, as I haven't seen any other Chemist Warehouse stocking these.
If you'd never heard of BDC, how would you rate Iconic in it's own right?
Cheers,
Renato

People are always searching for a good deal, which is normal.
But in the end, we are fooling ourselves.
The chemical stench of Milestone was infuriating.

Type "Milestone" into the search bar, click on Search This Forum, and check the first three pages of results. There you'll see about a dozen different members wearing it as a SOTD, plus praise for it by various members in other threads.
The chemical stench, as you put it, may well be infuriating to you - but plainly this is definitely not the case for numerous others here. I think Secretions Magnifique is the worst scent ever made by several orders of magnitude - but some people here said they like it. Luca Turin even gave it five stars in his book. People plainly perceive scents differently.

Renato

Milestone puts Millesime Imperial to shame!

You have a very good Chem Warehouse!
They are around but far and few between with the higher end stock.
Also the Chem Warehouses I've been to have had Iconic Testers available also ( I assume it sells well )
Bit hard to really comment on your last point.
I'd bought my Iconic blind, and it's something I never wear or desire to reach for.

I think Creed Millesime Imperial smells great - but with scent from one tester lasting just over two hours on me, and one lasting nearly seven hours - I was unwilling to fork out the money buying it and relying on pot luck that I'd get a good bottle.
Meanwhile, Milestone smells similar and has excellent longevity.

Thanks. I can't understand the Chemist Warehouse in Baxter - Baxter is a tiny place with mainly small houses, where the clientele for high-end perfumes should be near non-existent. Maybe they rely on people travelling down to the Peninsula?
Perhaps check out Iconic again. As I said above, I thought it was pretty awful at the start, before getting better. That said, I wouldn't buy it at its current $60 price.
Cheers,
Renato
