Mama Gertie’s Hideaway Campground is an excellent place to camp in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and near Asheville. This campground has full hookup RV sites, as well as tent camping sites and cabin rentals. It’s near lots of outdoor recreation and has an online reservation system to book your site. There are different tiers of camping here and also four sites with private decks. Pets are welcome here as long as you follow the pet rules. Amenities offered at Mama Gertie’s include laundry facilities, a camp store, dog park, fitness center, rec room with pool table, library, cable TV, and Wi-Fi.

Lake Powhatan Recreation Area & Campground

You’ll be close to the downtown action and right by the water when you book a site at the Lake Powhatan Recreation Area & Campground. This is a fun place to cool off with a swim in the lake and take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. From March through November, there are 75 campsites here for RVs and tents. During the rest of the year, there are 39 campsites available. The park also has flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, water fill station, and picnic tables. Campers should be mindful that they are in black bear territory and keep all food safely locked away.

At this time, you’ll also have hot water and flush toilets in the bathhouses. During the rest of the year, there are 12 first-come, first-serve standard sites available.

Mount Pisgah Campground

You’ll be among the rolling mountains of western North Carolina and not far from Asheville when you book a site at the Mount Pisgah Campground. Asheville is about 20 miles away. It’s a great place to camp along the Blue Ridge Parkway and southern end of the route. You’ll find shaded sites for RVs and tents here. There are 53 sites available to reserve in advance and 71 sites that are first-come, first-served. Guests have basic amenities, such as flush toilets and drinking water here. There are hiking trails accessible from right at the campground to make your outdoor recreation very convenient.

Linville Falls Campground is a family camping destination along the Blue Ridge Parkway and near Asheville. The campsites here are suitable for both RVs and tents. However, visitors should know that there are no water, electric, or sewer hookups at the sites.
